What are the Best Bemis Toilet Seats?
Bemis toilet seats are some of the best toilet seats on the market. That is not surprising since Bemis is the largest toilet seat manufacturer and has been around for decades, perfecting the art of making great seats.
Bemis toilet seats are made in Wisconsin, United States. You can therefore be sure that they are made with the highest industrial standards while keeping jobs in America at the same time.
You will replace your toilet seat more times than you will replace the toilet itself, no matter how well the seat is made. This is due to the fact that seats are always in an up and down movement which causes wear and tear, unlike the toilet, which is always fixed in one position.
Bemis toilet seats, just like any other toilet seats, are made of plastic or wood. Although these materials can be treated to make them strong, they will, after some time, break, necessitating a replacement.
Having said that, I should also say that some toilet seats are more comfortable than others and also last longer. This is why you should not always go for the cheapest brands.
Bemis toilet seats are some of the best seats, and in this article, I will review some of the best Bemis toilet seats to help you make an informed choice.
There is not much to write about toilet seats, so I will make this review as short as possible to save your time and mine. Let’s get down to it.
The 7 Best Bemis Toilet Seats are:
1. Bemis 1500TTT 000 Toilet Seat
- WE'RE HERE TO SERVE OUR CUSTOMERS: Customer service is available for any questions at 888.722.6488 CST 8-5 PM
- EASY INSTALLATION: Plastic Top-TITE STA-TITE hinges installs seat easily from above the bowl and will never loosen
- NO BENDING: The Top-Tite Seat Fastening System INSTALLS FROM THE TOP, eliminating the need to get down on hands and knees
Bemis 1500TTT 000 is our top Bemis toilet seat. It is available for both elongated and round toilet bowls. The colors available are white, Venetian pink, Dresden blue, almond, biscuit, ice grey, cotton white, Silverado, fawn beige, linen, and beige.
This is a top-mounting toilet seat. That means you don’t need to bend on your knees to tighten a wingnut on the underside of the bowl during installation. The mounting hardware is designed in such a way that you are able to fix and tighten the seat from the top of the bowl.
I am sure you have seen those toilet seats protruding way beyond the bowl rim or appearing shorter than the bowl. And some which just look offset. This toilet seat is designed in such a way that you can easily adjust it for a perfect fit.
Bemis toilet seats use the Sta-Tite installation system, which prevents the seats from shifting around or loosening. This is a great innovation since most seat hinges break as a result of the mounting hardware loosening. Once you install this seat, you will not need to tighten it again.
The Bemis 1500TTT 000 toilet seat is made of molded wood and comes with a 1-year warranty.
2. Bemis 1500EC 000 Toilet Seat
- WE'RE HERE TO SERVE OUR CUSTOMERS: Customer service is available for any questions at 888.722.6488 CST 8-5 PM
- QUICKLY AND EASILY REMOVES: For cleaning or replacement
- HINGES: Plastic twist to unlock and lock
Bemis 1500EC 000 is one of the most popular Bemis toilet seats. It is also the best budget-friendly bemis toilet seat but still a seat of high quality. This seat is made from enameled wood.
It will fit perfectly on all elongated toilets, including major brands like Kohler, Toto, and American Standard. This particular toilet seat is available in white.
Bemis has made it easy to remove and install this toilet seat. It is, therefore, pretty quick and easy to clean the toilet seat and the entire toilet bowl and then quickly reinstall the seat.
If you are short on cash and looking for a budget-friendly Bemis toilet seat, this is the one to go for. It comes with a 1-year warranty.
3. Bemis 790TDGSL 000 Toilet Seat
- NO SLAMMING: Seat closes slowly and quietly with a tap to eliminate pinched fingers
- STA-TITE: Commercial Fastening System
- NO CALLBACKS FOR LOOSE SEATS: The STA-TITE Commercial Fastening System installs with a snap and will never come loose or wiggle
The Bemis 790TDGSL 000 is a heavy-duty slow-close toilet seat. It is available for both elongated and round toilet bowls and is compatible with all toilet brands, including Toto, Kohler, and American Standard.
If you, just like me, are irritated by the sound of a toilet seat slamming on the bowl, then this is the toilet seat for you. Both the seat and the lid are slow close. As soon as you are done doing your business, you just give the seat or the lid a slight tap, and it will close down slowly.
The slow-close feature is quite convenient and offers a bit of privacy. It is somewhat embarrassing to keep announcing to everyone that you are in the bathroom due to the slamming sound that seats make; apart from that, it also helps the seat last longer. Constantly slamming the seat on the bowl weakens both the seat and the mounting hardware.
This toilet seat’s bolts are made from stainless steel. This prevents them from corroding and also gives the seat much more stability. Sta-Tite fastening system further makes this toilet sturdy and will not shift.
The toilet seat is made of plastic. It comes with a 1-year warranty.
4. Bemis 7800TDG 000 Toilet Seat
- WE'RE HERE TO SERVE OUR CUSTOMERS: Customer service is available for any questions at 888.722.6488 CST 8-5 PM
- COMMERCIAL GRADE: Closed front with cover made from injection molded solid plastic
- HEAVY DUTY: Non-corrosive 300 Series stainless-steel posts and pintles
The Bemis 7800TDG 000 is quite a comfortable toilet seat. Those who have used it speak of it as such. Bemis actually markets it as a heavy-duty commercial toilet seat, but there is absolutely nothing stopping you from buying it for your house.
We all know that commercial toilet seats have a gap at the front, but this one has a closed front, so you can comfortably install and use it in your home toilet. It is made from molded solid plastic. These seats are only made for elongated toilet seats and are compatible with all major toilet brands.
Installing this seat is a cinch. The Sta-Tite fastening system installs with a snap. You, therefore, don’t need to worry about cracking your toilet bowl while tightening the seat bolts. You will never need to readjust your seat since it won’t wiggle.
This seat is unfortunately only available in white. If you would like another color, then you are out of luck. It comes with a 1-year warranty.
5. Bemis H1900NL 000 Heated Nightlight Toilet Seat
- 3 SETTINGS: Multi-setting warming Seat with 3 temperature settings for comfort
- SOFT ILLUMINATION: Built-in blue LED night light that illuminates the bathroon with a soft, soothing glow
- NO SLAMMING: Seat closes slowly and quietly with a tap to eliminate pinched fingers
If you are looking for a bit of comfort, then this is the toilet seat to go for. And it is available for both elongated and round toilet seats in white and linen.
Sitting on a cold toilet seat on a cold morning or during winter is a dreadful experience. This is why Bemis came up with this heated toilet seat. It has three temperature settings for you to choose from where you can just set and forget it so that you don’t need to set it every time.
Another amazing feature of this toilet seat is the nightlight. Sometimes you get the urge to use the bathroom at night, and you normally have no alternative but to turn on the bright bathroom lights. There is no better way to lose sleep.
The nightlight feature in this seat has a blue light to illuminate the bowl and the entire bathroom, meaning you can comfortably use the toilet without turning on the lights.
This toilet seat also has a slow close feature, meaning you don’t have to put up with a slamming seat again. It is also a very sturdy seat that will not shift sideways as you use it.
You can tell that this toilet costs more than other ordinary seats. With all its nice features, it is not hard to see why you will need to pay more for it. You will also need to have a power outlet nearer to the toilet. If you don’t already have one in place, then that will be an extra cost.
This seat has a 1-year warranty.
6. Bemis 800EC 000 Toilet Seat
- WE'RE HERE TO SERVE OUR CUSTOMERS: Customer service is available for any questions at 888.722.6488 CST 8-5 PM
- QUICKLY AND EASILY REMOVES: For cleaning or replacement. Easy Clean hinge allows for quick removal of seat for easy cleaning
- RING BUMPERS: Four color matched bumpers
Bemis is known for making quality wooden toilet seats, but they also make great plastic ones too. This is one of the best ones, and it is also very well-priced too.
Most people are unsure of what toilet seat to buy, especially if you are replacing an old wooden seat with a plastic one. As we all know, wood is quite hard and can comfortably hold most peoples’ weights, but the same cannot always be said of plastic.
This toilet seat is, however, pretty solid and will hold up pretty well. It will also not stain or fade even after years of usage. It is available in white, linen, and bone for both elongated and round toilets.
Like most Bemis toilet seats, installing this seat is super easy. The quick-release mechanism makes it so easy to remove and reinstall it back during cleaning. It is compatible with major toilet brands, but make sure you buy one in accordance with your toilet bowl size.
7. Bemis 1200SLOWT 160 Toilet Seat
- Whisper close hinge slowly and quietly closes with a tap to help prevent slamming and pinched fingers
- Resilient plastic with molded-in color resists wear, chips and Stains
- Sta-tite seat fastening system reduces installation time and helps prevent loosening
This is another great Bemis toilet seat. It is available in 40 colors, the majority of which are just shades of the common colors. If you need to have a contrast between your toilet color and your toilet seat, you should check out this seat. You could also buy a matching one.
It fits perfectly on elongated toilets from all toilet manufacturers. Like other Bemis toilet seats, it uses the Sta-Tite installation system, making it really sturdy, and you don’t need to keep adjusting it.
The slow close feature is also an added advantage. Although some people have reported this feature being defective after a few years of usage, I cannot categorically say whether it applies to all seats or it’s only the case in isolated pieces.
While buying this seat, I suggest that you take your time to carefully select the color that you need. It is easy to get confused, especially when you have to choose between 40 colors.
Other than that, this is a nice toilet seat, and the molded-in colors will not chip, wear or fade. It has a one-year warranty.
Bemis Toilet Seats Buying Guide
So how do you know what Bemis toilet seat to buy? Although all the seats we have reviewed in this post are pretty decent, there is still one which will work out for you better than the others. Let us then consider the factors before buying a toilet seat.
1. Cost
If cost weren’t an issue, everyone would go for the most expensive seat. Most of us have different buying powers, so we have to settle with what we can comfortably buy. I have made sure to include the best-budget-friendly seat in this review to cater to those who just need a nice but affordable seat.
2. Toilet Bowl Shape
Different toilet bowl shapes exist, but in the United States, there are round and elongated toilet bowls. Elongated toilet bowls are oval-shaped, while round toilet bowls are circular. On average, the length of an elongated bowl is 18.5 inches, while that of a round toilet is 16.5 inches.
It is pretty simple to differentiate an elongated toilet from a round toilet by looking at them. If you are, however, not sure, here is how to measure for a toilet seat:
- To measure for a toilet seat, measure the bowl where you will install the new seat.
- Using a measuring tape, take the distance from the center of the two-seat mounting holes to the front of the bowl rim, keeping the tape as central as possible to the bowl.
- Suppose the measurement is about 18.5 inches order an elongated seat. If it is 16.5 inches, order a round toilet seat.
If you want to learn more about measuring toilet seats, check out this post.
3. Wood vs Plastic Toilet Seats
Bemis toilet seats are made of either enameled wood or plastic. Each of the two materials has its advantages and disadvantages. Wooden toilet seats are warmer than plastic seats, while plastic seats last longer than wooden ones.
I have written a whole article on wooden vs. plastic toilet seats and their pros and cons. If you would like to read more on that, check it out here.
4. Color
Bemis toilet seats come in very many colors. Most people prefer having a white toilet, but they don’t mind having a different color for the seat. This is because you can use the seat color to match other items in the bathroom, which gives your bathroom a bit of color and therefore break the white monotony.
Of course, you can also choose a white color to match your toilet. Whatever decision you make, just take your time to choose your favorite seat color.
How to Install a Bemis Toilet Seat
Installing a Bemis toilet seat is easy, and I don’t see why you should pay a plumber to do it for you. It wouldn’t even take you 15 minutes. What might take you longer is removing your old toilet seat.
To help you with that, I have written a post on how to replace a toilet seat which I believe will help you remove your old seat. Check it out here.
I would have typed the whole procedure, but I will leave this video here because it is very well illustrated.
