The 7 Best Bidet Toilet Combos – Sleek and Modern
Last Updated on August 31, 2023 by toilethaven
What is the Best Bidet Toilet Combo?
A bidet toilet combo is simply a combination of a toilet and a bidet toilet seat to form one fixture instead of two fixtures. It offers various functions, including but not limited to cleaning, massaging, and drying.
A bidet toilet seat is also called a washlet, especially those from the Toto Brand. Most of the time, a bidet seat is confused with a bidet. So, what is the difference between a bidet and a bidet toilet seat/washlet?
A bidet is a porcelain stand-alone sanitary fixture that is installed on the bathroom floor next to the toilet, while a bidet seat is a seat installed on a toilet bowl, which has the same or even more functions than a bidet.
Before bidet toilet combos were a thing, people used to install a bidet beside a toilet such that you would do your business on the toilet and then jump to the bidet to get cleaned up. This was/is a little inconvenient, and it also requires that you have a big bathroom or have so many fixtures in the bathroom.
That inconvenience gave birth to the bidet toilet combos. With a bidet toilet, you do everything at the same place and also massively save on your bathroom space. Don’t forget that bidet toilet combos look stylish and have extra luxurious features.
As you are going to realize, most bidet toilet combos are smart/intelligent and tankless toilets at the same time. They are, therefore, compact and low-profile fixtures that don’t need a big space to fit.
The 7 Best Bidet Toilet Combos are:

Bidets Popularity in America
When it comes to bidets, washlets, or basically bidet toilet combos, I always have people ask me one of the following questions:
- Do you have to wipe after using a bidet?
- Are bidets unsanitary?
- Is bidet better than toilet paper?
- How do you dry after using a bidet?
I will attempt to answer these and other questions and others throughout this post.
Bidets originated in France around the late 1600s and early 1700s and have been used in Europe and Asia but have never really caught up with the American market. The reason for this is due to the fact that Americans have traditionally only used toilet paper. The second reason is that most American’s bathroom plumbing does not allow for the addition of an extra fixture.
It is worth noting that American bathrooms are built in strict adherence to the National Kitchen and Bath Association codes and other local codes. These codes determine the spacing out of fixtures within the bathroom and kitchen.
Bidet toilet combinations should now offer Americans a perfect opportunity to enjoy the convenience of both a toilet and a bidet as one fixture with a single drainage.
Let us now look at a detailed review of the best bidet toilet combos in the market.
1. Toto Neorest 700H Bidet Toilet Combo
- Water consumption: 1.0 gallons_per_flush
- Cyclone siphon jet flushing system, ultra-high efficiency (1.0GPF/3.8LPF and 0.8GPF/3.0LPF)
- Convenient remote control
The Toto Neorest 700H is a dual flush one-piece elongated and skirted bidet toilet combo. It is only available in cotton white.
So what makes the Toto Neorest toilet with integrated washlet the best bidet toilet combo? Let us have a look at some of its best features.
Hands-Free Experience
With the Toto Neorest, you will not have to fight/argue with anyone on whether to leave the toilet seat down or up by default. The toilet seat and lid will always be down.
As you approach the toilet, it will sense your presence and automatically lift the lid. You will, therefore, not need to touch the toilet seat, which is cool and hygienic.
The Neorest uses Toto’s Ewater+ system. As soon as the toilet lid auto-opens, an automatic water Premist wets the bowl. A wet bowl is more effective in waste elimination than a dry bowl as it ensures waste does not stick.
Heated Bidet Toilet Seat and Nightlight
If you need to access the bathroom at night, you don’t have to turn on the bright bathroom lights in order to see the toilet. An illuminating light in the bowl, which is “kind” to your eyes, will help you easily navigate the bathroom.
Toilet seats can get cold, especially during winter, and that is why the Toto Neorest bidet toilet seat is always heated. It has five temperature settings to help you choose the one you are most comfortable with.
The Bidet Experience.
As soon as you had finished doing the “job,” you would then be required to rise from the toilet and sit on the bidet using the separate toilet and bidet system. With this bidet toilet combo, you don’t need to do that. Just get hold of the remote and start the cleaning process.
You can select front, rear, soft rear, oscillating, and pulsating cleanse options from the wireless remote control. The hot water cleanses and massages you. Like the heated seat, you can customize the water temperature and pressure.
After you are thoroughly cleaned up, start the air dryer. With its 5-temperature settings, the dryer will start bowing warm air on your rear and front until you are fully dried up. An automatic air deodorizer will kick in to take care of any unwanted odor lingering in the air.
The Flushing Process
The Toto Neorest is also an automatic flushing toilet. You don’t need to push any button or trip lever. It uses the powerful Toto’s Tornado flushing system.
Instead of the usual rim holes all around the bowl, Toto uses two powerful nozzles on each side of the bowl. The nozzles face sideways and not straight at the bowl.
As soon as water enters the bowl through the nozzles, a centrifugal force is created, violently rotating in the bowl like a cyclone. This circular water motion is very effective in scrubbing and rinsing the bowl.
Just like other modern Toto toilets, the surface of the Neorest is coated with their patented Cefiontect glaze. This glaze gives the toilet a mirror-like surface, which makes it very hard for waste and dirt to adhere to it.
Cefiontect, combined with the Ewater+ system, makes it extremely easy to clean this Toto toilet, removing the need to use harsh chemicals. The Toto Neorest is very water-efficient, using only 0.8 or 1 gallon per flush.
The Toto Neorest has an elongated toilet bowl and seat, which is comfortable to sit on, unlike a round one. It also has a comfort/right seat height and is therefore ADA-compliant.
The distance from the floor to the top of the bowl is 15.75 inches, which increases to 17.25 inches of toilet seat height. It is, therefore, easy to sit and stand on this bidet toilet without straining.
The other dimensions of the Toto Neorest 700H are:
- Depth: 31.44 inches
- Width: 17.625 inches
- Height: 20.75 inches
- Rough-in: 12 inches
The Toto Neorest comes with a 3-year warranty for residential applications and a 1-year warranty for commercial applications.

The Kohler K-5401-PA-0 Veil is a dual flush one-piece compact and elongated bidet toilet combo. It is only available in white.
In my own opinion, the Kohler Veil intelligent toilet is the most beautiful toilet ever. I know it is not every day that we use beauty and toilet in the same sentence, but this toilet is exactly that. It has a compact, streamlined one-piece design that is sleek, stylish, and modern design.
Apart from the aesthetics, what makes the Kohler Veil a worthwhile bidet toilet combo? Let us look at some of its features.
Smart Bidet Toilet Seat
The Kohler Veil is an intelligent toilet and will, therefore, sense your movement as you approach it. Thus, the bidet toilet seat cover will open so that you don’t need to use your hand to lift it up.
The seat and the bowl are both elongated to give you more surface area to sit on. Kohler Veil’s seat has an ergonomic French curve, making it comfortable as its design considers the human body’s shape.
Its nozzle wand features a front wash, a pulsating wash, and a spiral wash. The front wash cleanses your front area with warm air-infused water through 78 fine nozzles.
From the rear, the pulsating wash cleanses and massages you, while the spiral wash cleanses over a broad area. The spiral wash is between the front and the pulsating washes.
As the wand retreats back, it is disinfected using sterilized water. A UV light automatically sanitizes the nozzle every 24 hours to enhance the Veils’s hygiene further.
Warm air is blown all over your private area, leaving you dry, comfortable, and relaxed. A deodorizer is then released, which leaves your bathroom smelling fresh.
Flushing System.
The Kohler Veil does not have a toilet tank and all the parts that are found in a conventional toilet. Its flushing water is supplied directly from the supply lines with sufficient pressure to flush the toilet.
You will, therefore, notice that the Veil’s bowl has no rim or rim holes. Instead, it has two powerful jets, which create a powerful siphoning action and, as a result, a powerful flush.
Being a dual flush toilet, The Kohler Veil uses only 0.8 gallons or 1 gallon of water per flush. It complies with the EPA’s WaterSense and California’s CEC and can be sold anywhere in the United States.
Since the Veil’s flushing is dependent on electricity, it comes with an emergency flush feature for when you have a power outage. You will need to have a look at the Kohler Veil manual to understand how these features work precisely.
Other Features.
The Kohler Veil bidet toilet combo has a nightlight as well as a heated toilet seat feature. The heated seat has different temperature settings to suit your comfort.
Apart from the temperature settings, you can also select and customize the water temperature and pressure as well as the dryer settings. You do all this from the touchscreen LCD remote control.
The bowl height without a seat is 15.5 inches and 17.25 inches with a seat. It is, therefore, a comfortable toilet to sit and stand on.
The other dimensions of the Kohler Veil are:
- Depth: 26.13 inches
- Width: 17.25 inches
- Height: 21 inches
- Rough-in: 12 inches
Although the Kohler K-5401-PA-0 Veil bidet toilet combo is a floor-mounted toilet, this Kohler Veil wall-mounted bidet toilet combo is another great option.
The Kohler Veil comes with a 3-year warranty.
3. Bio Bidet IB835 Fully Integrated Bidet Toilet Combo
- All IN ONE DESIGN complete bidet seat and toilet in one package, Enjoy luxury like never before in a compact and refined design
- DUAL NOZZLE provides a posterior wash for him and feminine for her, improves hygiene
- ECO FRIENDLY Energy Save Mode reduce electricity and toilet paper, good for the environment
The Bio Bidet IB835 fully integrated bidet toilet combo is a single flush, one-piece elongated toilet. It only comes in a white color option.
This is a particularly great option because it is not as pricey as the Toto Neorest or the Kohler Veil but is still a decent product. Let us see why this bidet toilet combo makes it into this list.
Bio Bidet Toilet Seat
The Bio Bidet IB835 toilet seat is one of the market’s most famous bidet toilet seats for people seeking to convert their ordinary toilets into bidets. It performs and looks even better when integrated with this one-piece low-profile toilet.
The Seat’s nozzle features a front and a rear wash. The rear wash has three holes for a more thorough cleansing, while the front wash has nine smaller holes and is gentler than the rear wash. Its warm cleansing water is infused with air bubbles (aeration) for both a thorough and softer wash.
The people at Bio Bidet recognize that everyone is not the same size. Because of this reason, the nozzle head can be automatically elongated or shortened to hit different parts as the user might like. I like this functionality.
The water’s temperature and pressure can be adjusted to fit the preferences of different users. You are able to do this from the wireless remote control with an LCD window. The remote control can be hand-held or mounted on a nearby wall.
Bio Bidet IB835 uses an instant water heating system. It, therefore, avoids the need to keep heating the water throughout the day and night, even when nobody is using it. This is a great way to keep your electricity bills in check.
To maintain top hygiene, the nozzle will go through a self-cleaning function before and after every use. You might, therefore, notice water leaking from the slot after the nozzle retreats. Please note that it is not a problem with the bidet seat but rather a clean-up process.
Flushing
There are three ways of flushing the Bio Bidet IB835. It can flush automatically, through the remote control command, or manually. If you check on the left side of the toilet, you will see a flush button. This is a great option and will, without a doubt, save you during a power outage.
This bidet toilet combo uses 1.6 gallons of water per flush. Unfortunately, that is more than the allowable limit in some states like California and Texas. The Bio Bidet can, therefore, not be sold in those states.
Other Features
Like any decent bidet toilet combination, the Bio Bidet IB835 has a nightlight and a heated toilet seat. It also has an elongated toilet bowl and seat for extra comfort.
Take note that the wash options on the remote controller are also available on the right-hand side of the bidet toilet seat. Although you have to adjust your body to see and read them, they are a great backup plan if your remote controller runs out of battery.
The dimensions of the Bio Bidet IB835 fully integrated bidet toilet combo are:
- Depth: 27.8 inches
- Width: 15.8 inches
- Height: 21 inches
- Bowl height: 15 inches
- Rough-in: 12 inches
It comes with a 3-year warranty.
4. Woodbridge B-0960S Bidet Toilet Combo

- ✅ [TOTALLY HYGIENIC]: Posterior wash, Feminine wash, Pulsating wash, Adjustable water pressure, hygienic filtered water
- ✅ [AUTOMATIC FLUSH]: the seat will activate the self-cleaning bidet/spray wand and follow by a powerful flush on your departure for hands-free operation
The Woodbridge B-0960S is a dual-flush, one-piece elongated toilet with an integrated bidet. It is a modern, sleek, and beautifully designed toilet with a comfortable height.
The one thing to like about this bidet toilet combo is that it is cheaper than most of the other options in the market. As a matter of fact, you get this piece for a quarter of what other high-end bidet toilet combos cost.
Let’s look at some of the Woodbridge B-0960S’s features that made it qualify for this list.
Auto Opening, Closing, and Flushing
As you enter your bathroom and approach the toilet, the bidet toilet seat will sense your presence and automatically lift the lid. You, therefore, don’t have to lift the lid physically and risk coming into contact with germs.
As soon as you are done doing your business, you will walk off without bringing the lid down. Again, the sensor will notice you leaving and trigger the lid to close.
When it comes to flushing, the process is also automated. You don’t need to push or pull anything to flush the toilet. Just rise up and walk away. You can, however, also choose to flush the toilet using the remote control or do so manually, especially during a power outage.
This toilet, however, uses 1.6 gallons of water per flush. It is, therefore, not certified by WaterSense or the California Energy Commission (CEC). As a result, the B-0960S is not eligible for sale in California and Texas.
Cleansing Options
The Woodbridge B-0960S offers a posterior wash, a feminine wash, and a pulsating wash. The feminine wash is the front wash, a feature loved mainly by ladies, as gentlemen hardly ever feel the need for a front wash.
Apart from just getting cleaned up, the pulsating wash, which contains warm water infused with bubbles, massages and soothes your posterior. For your comfort, you can easily adjust the temperature and pressure of the water from the easy-to-use remote control.
A dryer, in which the temperature can also be adjusted, will blow hot air to remove all the moisture from your rear and front. To keep the bathroom smelling fresh, a deodorizer will be released, removing any odors.
If you need to use the bathroom at night, a blue light illuminating the bowl will guide you to the toilet. The seat will also be heated to make sure your behind is not freezing. Cold winters will, therefore, be well taken care of.
Other Features
The Woodbridge B-0960S has an elongated toilet bowl and seat to enhance your comfort further. It is also a comfortable height toilet. The distance from the floor to the top of the bowl is 16 inches. This distance will further increase by more than an inch once you install the seat.
The dimensions of the Woodbridge B-0960S bidet toilet combo are:
- Depth: 28.75 inches
- Width: 15.375 inches
- Height: 22.625 inches
- Rough-in: 12 inches
Apart from just working as advertised, the Woodbridge bidet toilet combo is a visually appealing item. It comes with a 2-year limited warranty.
5. Ove Decors 735H Bidet Toilet Combo
- ✅ Effective Cleansing: The seat will flush automatically on your departure to provide handsfree and cleanliness as convenient as ever. Choose from multiple settings for water sprayer pressure,...
- ✅ Modern Hygiene: One-piece toilet offers a sleek look and makes cleaning easier. Convenient LED Night Light. Adjust water temperature, water pressure, dryer temperature and heat seat temperature...
- ✅ Energy Efficient and User Friendly: WaterSense certified toilet meets strict EPA flushing guidelines, including at least 20% less water than 1. 6 gallon toilets. 1. 6 GFP (gallons per flush)...
The Ove Decors 735H bidet toilet combo is a single flush, one-piece elongated, and comfortable height toilet. It is one of the several smart toilets by Ove Decors, which, in my opinion, is the best.
This toilet has many features, which can all be manipulated from the smart remote control that it comes with. One of the best features of the remote control is the energy-saving mode. When that feature is enabled, the toilet seat will not be continuously heated, especially when not in use.
To avoid repetition, the Ove Decors 735H works like the other bidet toilet combinations we have seen. The rear wash, front wash, pulsating and oscillating washes. It also features a warm air dryer to expel all the moisture from your rear.
Most of these functions have adjustable settings as follows:
- Heated seat: 4 settings
- The heated water: 4 settings
- Heated dryer: 4 settings
- Water pressure: 8 settings
The nightlight and heated toilet seat combination works out great. Even when the seat lid is down, a strip of blue light at the top of the seat will guide you to the toilet. This is great, especially for people who lose sleep easily after exposure to bright light.
Another great feature you will love about this toilet is the automatic flushing. As soon as you are all cleaned up and dry, all you have to do is stand up and walk away. The smart toilet will notice your departure and, therefore, flush the toilet on its own.
This amazing toilet with an integrated bidet only uses 1.28 gallons per flush. Be careful, as some other publications list its consumption as 1.6 gallons. The Ove Decors website, however, clarifies that it is indeed 1.28 gallons per flush and, therefore, WaterSense and CEC certified. People in California and Texas can, therefore, buy this product.
The Ove Decors 735H has a toilet seat height of 16.56 inches. Although it is not fully ADA-compliant (17 to 19 inches), it is still really comfortable to sit and stand from more than a standard-height toilet. That, combined with an elongated bowl and seat, will make your bathroom trips very comfortable.
Other dimensions of the Ove Decors 735H are:
- Depth: 31.31 inches
- Width: 16.38 inches
- Height: 23.81 inches
- Rough-in: 12 inches
It comes with a 1-year limited warranty.
6. Toto MW6042044CEFG#01 Washlet+ UltraMax II
- WASHLET+ bidet seat and toilet, specially designed to conceal the WASHLET water supply and power cord
- PREMIST- using incoming water supply, a misting of the toilet bowl is performed before each use to help prevent waste from adhering
- Front and rear warm water washing with five adjustable temperature and pressure controls. Oscillating or pulsing stream option
This combines the Toto Ultramax II and the Toto C200 electronic bidet toilet seat/washlet. These items are mostly sold separately, but in this instance, they are sold as a single-bidet toilet combo.
The Toto Ultramax II is, in my opinion, one of the best toilets in the market (non-smart toilets). It is a single flush, one-piece elongated and comfort-height toilet. Ultramax II is available in a variety of colors, but in this case, it is only available in cotton white.
Toto Ultramax II is a powerful flushing toilet. It uses the Toto Tornado flushing system. With this system, Toto uses a 3-inch wide flush valve and two powerful nozzles on each side of the toilet bowl.
The advantage of using a 3-inch flush valve instead of the usual 2-inch is that water flows from the tank faster and enters the bowl forcefully, creating a stronger flush. Using two powerful nozzles instead of the usual rim holes helps create a powerful vortex in the bowl, effectively scrubbing and rinsing the bowl.
Its strong flush notwithstanding, Toto Ultramax II uses only 1.28 gallons of water per flush. Its sale is, therefore, not restricted anywhere in the United States.
Let us now look at some of the Toto C200 bidet toilet seat features that make this combo one to consider.
Toto C200 Bidet Seat
Most people are easily irritated when they see power cords and water supply lines surrounding a toilet. It just doesn’t look neat. The Toto C200 bidet seat is designed in such a way that it conceals the power cords and the water lines, leaving the toilet looking elegant.
Like the Toto Neorest, this combo also employs the Toto PREMIST technology. This is the slight misting/wetting of the toilet bowl to prevent waste from sticking. Therefore, cleaning the bowl becomes easy, especially for people with sticky poop.
The bidet toilet seat offers a rear and front wash with five adjustable pressure controls. It offers oscillating and pulsating options, which massage helps you relax. A warm air dryer and a deodorizer will further enhance your experience.
The Toto C200 bidet toilet seat has five temperature settings for choosing your most comfortable warmth levels. Its contoured design makes it so comfortable to sit on. This is also a soft closing seat, which helps eliminate the irritating sound of a toilet seat slam.
The Toto Ultramax II toilet, however, does not flush automatically. It has a chrome trip level on its left-hand side. I don’t think this is a major concern for most people.
Other Features
Like other modern Toto toilets, this combo’s surface is coated with Cefiontect glaze. This, combined with the one-piece design devoid of crevices, makes this toilet smooth, easy, and fast to clean.
The Toto Ultramax II has a bowl height of 16.125 inches. The seat height is, however, 17.5 inches, which is very comfortable to sit and stand for seniors, tall people, and those with limited mobility. An elongated toilet bowl and seat is another great addition.
The overall dimensions of the Toto Ultramax II and Toto C2OO bidet toilet combo are:
- Depth: 28.3 inches
- Width: 16.56 inches
- Height: 28.75 inches
- Rough-in: 12 inches
For people looking for a bidet toilet combo with a 10 or 14-inch rough-in, I recommend the TOTO WASHLET+ Carlyle II available on Amazon. It looks and works just like the Ultramax II, only that it has a concealed trapway. This allows installing the Toto uniFit adapter to convert a standard rough-in to a 10 or 14-inch one.
This bidet toilet is way cheaper than other high-end options and is, in my opinion, an excellent value for money. It comes with a 1-year warranty.
7. WoodBridge T-0008 Luxury Bidet Toilet Combo
- Include WOODBRIDGE one-piece toilet and luxury bidet seat. Bidet seat fits the toilet perfectly
- WOODBRIDGE chair height toilet not only meets ADA standards, must have a 17-19" floor to bowl rim height with seat included, but also offer more comfort to taller people and people who have a hard...
- Map Flush 1000 Grams:Best Maximum Performance Flush score of 1000 grams. Highly Recommended Map Scoring Toilet
If you are looking for an inexpensive bidet toilet combo, then the Woodbridge T-0008 is another great option. It is a single-flush, one-piece elongated toilet with an integrated bidet toilet seat.
Just like all other Woodbridge toilets, the T-0008 is a sleek, skirted, and fully glazed low-profile toilet that will complement any bathroom décor. It is not a very smart toilet like the Toto Neorest or the Kohler Veil, which is more than perfect for some people, given its price.
Most people don’t appreciate a bidet toilet combination until they use one. The T-0008 is just an ordinary toilet with a bidet toilet seat that can make your life easy. For just a small investment over the ordinary toilet, you can make your bathroom trips very enjoyable.
Let us look at how this combo works and why I think it would be worth buying.
The Bidet Toilet Seat
It offers a pulsating front and rear wash that cleanses and massages you. The warm air-infused water oscillates around your rear anatomy, sending pulses that remove all the waste and help you relax.
Using the remote control, which can be hand-held or wall-mounted, you can choose different water temperature settings and pressure. The nozzle is made of stainless steel and is self-cleansing to remove germs, maintaining top hygiene.
Like water, the bidet seat is heated and comes with five temperature settings. If this is a personal toilet, you can set and forget your preferred temperature and pressure settings.
I also like the fact that the toilet seat has been designed with a quick-release mechanism in place. This makes it super-easy and fast to remove and reinstall the seat while cleaning the toilet. The smooth one-piece toilet design also makes your life easy during cleaning.
Other Features
The toilet uses a stainless steel flush button mounted on top of the toilet tank, further enhancing its design. Using only 1.28 gallons of water per flush, it has the WaterSense label and CEC-compliant. Woodbridge T-0008 can, therefore, be sold anywhere within the United States.
The bowl height of the Woodbridge T-0008 is 16.5 inches, meaning it is a comfortable height toilet. This combines perfectly with its elongated bowl and seat for maximum comfort.
The other dimensions of the Woodbridge T-0008 bidet toilet combo are:
- Depth: 28.5 inches
- Width: 14.5 inches
- Height: 27.5 inches
- Rough-in: 12 inches
It comes with a 2-year limited warranty.
Toilet Bidet Combo Buying Guide
You need to take care of a couple of factors before committing your hard-earned cash to buy a bidet toilet combo, which is not a cheap undertaking. These are some of those things.
1. Toilet Dimensions
Toilet dimensions are critical, especially when you have a small bathroom. As a matter of priority, you should check out the assembled dimensions of the toilet you intend to buy and then compare them with the space you have in your bathroom.
The main advantage bidet toilet combos have over other ordinary toilets is that they are shorter, so their height is normally not a major concern. Height comes into play when you have an over-the-toilet storage unit that needs to fit above the toilet and leave some space.
The two dimensions you need to pay close attention to are the width and the depth. Another important dimension is the distance from the floor to the top of the toilet seat tip when it is lifted up.
One mistake I consistently see people making is taking the listed measurements of toilets online and assuming that those are the real and correct toilet dimensions. Often, those are the shipping dimensions and are normally more than the actual dimensions.
To get the real assembled toilet dimensions, go to the toilet manufacturer’s website and search for the toilet’s specification sheet. From there, you can see all the details. In this post, I made sure I gave you the precise dimensions of all the toilets I reviewed.
2. Toilet Rough-In
The toilet rough-in is the distance between the toilet’s rear finished wall and the center of the toilet’s drainpipe. Ensure you measure from the finished wall, not the baseboard.
The standard toilet rough-in is 12 inches, although some toilets have 10 and 14-inch rough-ins. A toilet with a 14-inch rough-in can be replaced by a toilet with a 12-inch rough-in, although a 2-inch gap will be left between the toilet and the wall.
A 10-inch rough-in toilet cannot replace a 12-inch toilet or even a 14-inch one. It would be best if you got a 10-inch rough-in toilet to replace it with.
Unfortunately, there are not many bidet toilet combos with a 10 or 14-inch rough-in. The only option I can think of is the skirted version of Toto Toilets. These include the Toto Carlyle and the Toto Vespin II. These toilets can be combined with one of the Toto electronic washlets/bidet toilet seats.
3. Comfort
When I talk of comfort in this instance, I am referring to the toilet bowl height and the shape of the bowl. The design of the bidet toilet seat also matters a lot.
There are two types of toilets with regard to bowl heights. These are the standard height toilets and the comfort height toilets. Standard-height toilets have a toilet seat height of 15 inches, while comfort-height toilets have a seat height of 17 to 19 inches. Comfort height toilets are also called ADA toilets or right/chair/universal height toilets.
Comfort height toilets are the most preferred ones as they are easy to use. You can sit and stand on the toilet without bending your back too much. They are also kind to the knees, unlike standard-height toilets.
About the shape of the toilet bowl, it will either be round or elongated. Round front bowls have a circular front, while elongated bowls are oval-shaped.
People with small bathrooms prefer round front toilet bowls as they have a shorter depth (16.5 inches) than elongated toilets (18.5 inches). Elongated bowls are more comfortable than round toilets as they offer you a bigger surface area to sit on.
All the bidet toilet combos in this review have an elongated toilet bowl because I always encourage people to go for it.
4. User-Friendliness and Luxury Level
Unlike ordinary toilets, a bidet toilet is a product that you usually interact with. You give it a command, and you expect it to execute. It should, therefore, come with a user-friendly interface that you can use without having to struggle.
Bidet toilets are also luxury items, which is why they cost so much more than regular toilets. But as they say, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” You do not expect it to clog, fail to heat, or behave unexpectedly. You expect that the item will work as advertised.
All bidet toilets, just like many things in life, are not made equal. Some are better than others. And that is why they will automatically close and open as you approach and walk away, while others will not. Those that do that, however, tend to be more expensive.
While choosing your desired bidet toilet combo, choose the level of luxury that matches your budget. Even we as humans are not born equal. Some have deeper pockets than others.
5. Power Reliability
Bidet toilets depend heavily on electricity. They almost cannot function without power, at least not in the way they are designed to. If you live in an area prone to frequent power blackouts, then you may not enjoy your bidet toilet as much as you like.
Another thing to know is that you will notice an increase in your electricity bill after installing a bidet toilet. This should not be a surprise because you should have adequately prepared for it by the time you are buying such an item.
Before buying a bidet toilet, one thing to do is ensure that you have a power outlet close to where the toilet will be installed. It would be best if you made sure the outlet is as close to the toilet as possible to avoid having power cords all over the bathroom, which is both a hazard and ugly.
Other Factors
Installing a bidet toilet seat is not different from installing other toilets. However, it is challenging since most bidet toilets are skirted and lack much access to the toilet bolts. You may choose to DIY it or use a professional plumber.
One thing to remember is that some manufacturer’s warranties do not hold if a licensed plumber did not install the toilet. A plumber will, on average, ask between 100 to 200 dollars to install a bidet toilet.
That is a substantial amount, which is why some people install the toilets themselves. Whatever way you decide to go about it, take your time to read through the warranty’s fine print and the installation manual.
Another thing to consider is the toilet’s flush rate and water efficiency. Remember that toilets with a flush rate higher than 1.28 gallons per flush cannot be sold in some states, such as California and Texas.
How to Use a Bidet Toilet Combo
Believe it or not, a bidet toilet combo is much harder to use than the ordinary floor-mounted bidet or hand-held bidet. With these other bidets, you just sit down, get cleaned up, dry yourself, and walk away.
Bidet toilet combos are like computers or mobile phones. You need to know what to press for a certain function to be executed. They can be challenging to use, especially for new users. It does not help that the user manuals are, most of the time, very badly written in technical language.
When you install your bidet toilet, take your time to play with it to know exactly how it functions. When something is unclear or confusing, pick up the phone and call the manufacturer’s service desk. Most of these guys are always willing and happy to help.
In a nutshell, this is how a bidet toilet combo works
- Lift the seat lid. For the automatic ones, the seat lid will open on its own.
- Sit on the toilet and do your business.
- Once done, start the cleansing process. Select the temperature and pressure settings you want, then go ahead and choose the different cleansing options. Some start with the front, while others start with the rear. I don’t think there is a rule.
- Start the warm air drier as soon as you are fully cleaned up. Again, you will choose the temperature settings you are most comfortable with.
- The deodorizer in most of these units is automatic and will, therefore, start on its own.
- The toilet can do it automatically for flushing, or you would need to send a command through the remote control. You can also flush the toilet physically. Here, it depends on the type of toilet you have.
And basically, that is how to use a toilet bidet combo.
Conclusion
Bidet toilet combos are the future of toilets, and the future is already here. Some people see them as luxury items, while others see them as necessities.
For anyone with limited mobility, a bidet toilet combo eliminates all the movements they may need to do, making their lives easy.
To anyone with a bit of cash, this is not something I would hesitate to recommend. Bidet toilet combos are a one-off investment that can last for many years, and as they say, “Toilet paper does not remove everything.”
